This year also marks a big milestone: F2CC has now awarded more than 500 grants, totalling over $4.5 million invested directly in schools and community organizations working to transform school food. Even better, more than 200 of those grants were awarded in just the last two years, showing how quickly this movement is growing.
Provide funding for
Indigenous school communities
to support their long-term community visions of Indigenous food security and food sovereignty to be implemented in the school setting.
We envision that these grants will enhance the ability of school communities to have the
infrastructure,
equipment,
knowledge,
and connections
needed to teach about and integrate Indigenous foods, foodways, worldviews, and approaches into daily practices at school.

Delivered in partnership with Whole Kids, a Pillar of Whole Foods Market Foundation, the Public Health Agency of Canada, Air Canada Foundation; and regional partners. We are very grateful to our Circle of Advisors for their support in developing this grant opportunity.
Provide funding for schools
to support their long-term farm to school (Local Food to School) vision.
We envision that these grants will enhance the ability of schools to integrate nourishing, locally grown and produced foods into their meal service and school learning environment — and to engage students in the full journey of
growing,
purchasing,
harvesting,
cooking,
serving,
and learning about the food on their plates.

Delivered in partnership with Whole Kids, a Pillar of Whole Foods Market Foundation.
Provide funding to Ontario schools
so that children and youth can eat nourishing food and develop a deep understanding and appreciation for it.
We envision seeing more
fresh,
healthy,
and culturally appropriate foods
in schools as well as seeing more students involved in hands-on food literacy education that reflects the local context, vision, and needs.

Delivered in partnership with Sustain Ontario and Farm Boy.
Beyond the school-based program activities, grant-recipient schools will also have opportunities to connect, share, and learn from each other, facilitated by Farm to Cafeteria Canada and our regional partners. This collaborative approach ensures a broader impact and a collective effort toward fostering sustainable and inclusive food practices in schools across the country.
