Dig in to the new school year
by applying for a Seed Grant!
In honour of back to school, we’re excited to announce a NEW stream of school grants available for the 2023/24 school year.
Valued at up to $3,000 each and designed to be flexible, the Dig In! Seed Grants are open to K-12 schools across Canada* and can be used toward a variety of capacity building activities, purchasing equipment for growing, cooking preserving and serving food, or other related expenses that will increase students’ access to healthy, local and culturally appropriate foods in schools and/or improve opportunities for hands-on learning through food and food systems.
These grants are ideal for schools that are looking to create positive change in their school food environment and to get started on a farm or local food to school journey.
Schools in Indigenous communities/nations and schools that serve a high-proportion of low-income, racialized or other equity-seeking communities are strongly encouraged to apply.
Applications are now open and will be accepted until
October 27, 2023 at 11:59 pm (PST).
