Longview School’s Dig In! Seed Grant Project

We are a K-6 school of 80 students. 25 come from Eden Valley. Our students have grown in their knowledge of how plants grow, how to harvest plants, and have expanded their willingness to try new foods.

We purchased an indoor growing wall, and student groups and classes take turns taking care of the plants and harvesting them. Our parent council was instrumental in getting this up and running, and their support has brought us closer together. We are planning and funding an outdoor classroom space so that next year we can continue to grow our passion for the outdoors, outdoor learning and sustainable agriculture.
