Webinar recordings: Kâpapâmahchakwêw – Wandering Spirit School’s Land Based Learning Programming

In 2025, F2CC hosted 2 webinars: Kâpapâmahchakwêw – Wandering Spirit School’s Land-Based Learning Programming, a workshop where we learned how to create meaningful, hands-on educational experiences for students.

May 28, 2025

In this workshop Laurie Labrecque showcased how Kâpapâmahchakwêw – Wandering Spirit School in Toronto has embraced Land-Based Learning to create meaningful, hands-on educational experiences for students. The school draws from its journey in traditional Indigenous foodways and its efforts toward self-sufficiency and food sovereignty.

Laurie highlighted practical ways educators can connect curriculum to the land around them and shared how integrating traditional Indigenous foodways has shaped the school’s approach and how this can inspire others to take similar steps in their own communities.
