General Information

NSTEP is an education hub of scientific, evidence-based knowledge that focuses on learning, practicing, and applying healthy habits for life. We have three core programs that can be delivered in school, after-school programming, or within community organizations. 1-Certificate Program was developed for post-secondary students and all professionals working with children and youth, covering nutrition, physical activity, fundamental movement, how the brain learns, and the key to a growth mindset over a fixed mindset.2- Our community program, Chef on NSTEP, teaches children/youth food preparation, nutrition, activity education, food literacy, and kitchen skills. 3- School Programming- NSTEP Eat Walk Live for ages 3-12 years, NSTEP Early Years (0-5 years) for early childhood settings, and NSTEP Teen Brain, which targets junior/senior high school-aged populations. NSTEP works with all children, youth, and families, including lower-income communities and English Language Learners. These communities need the most support in understanding the importance of healthy eating and activity and how to prepare nutritious, low-cost food, all of which contribute to successful high school completion and beyond.
