General Information

The Intergenerational Garden is an outdoor classroom initiative that brings together school-age children, seniors and the wider community to grow, learn and build relationships. Approximately 14 elementary school classes per year participate in the program, averaging around 400 students from Kindergarten to Grade 7 (ages 5-12). The children enjoy some of the produce onsite as well in the classroom making soups and salads. Hundreds of pounds of food are also donated to the local food bank.

The Garden is operated by the Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, Katzie, Seniors Network - community planning table, in partnership with the City of Maple Ridge and School District 42.
