School Description
The students of Bishop Savaryn school will have the opportunity to grow and eat healthy local vegetables at our school. Students will learn about food and basic food production through hands-on activities such as starting bedding plants, caring for the garden tower plants and looking after the community garden beds. Students of all grade levels will be able to watch the development from seed to plant as well as taste and eat some of what has been grown. Additionally, we hope to build a positive relationship with the Parent Council Committee by having parents volunteers help and support our community garden (ie. watering and weeding during the summer months).
