General Information

Calgary Meals on Wheels improves the food security and well-being of our community by preparing and delivering nutritious, quality, and affordable meals. We believes everyone deserves to be well-fed and that reliable nutrition is a critical link to overall health and wellness. We have served our community through the provision of affordable prepared meals since 1965 and have never missed a day of delivery. We provide our meal service to individuals (Home Support), school children (Student Nutrition and Hot Soup programs), and other community-based organizations and non-profits (Group Meals). Our student programs are a proactive initiative against childhood hunger, aiming to mitigate its adverse effects on development. By addressing hunger and malnourishment, we provide students with the essential resources needed for learning, concentration, and overall growth, contributing to a healthier and more fulfilling childhood. We are in a unique position to address food insecurity seeing as each day our Production team, which includes Red Seal Chefs, a Registered Dietician, and a Dietary Technician, produce approximately 5,500 meals in our state-of-the-art custom commercial kitchen; strictly adhering to food safety best practices to ensure quality and safe meals for our clients. Food safety is very important to us, and our 16,000 square foot custom kitchen and production staff are held to the highest standards – we have had zero infractions from AHS and all production staff and staff drivers are food-safety certified.
