Biography

Victoria Buffalo Robe, a Néhiyaw (Cree) from Treaty 4 territory, brings a wealth of knowledge and reverence for Mother Earth to her role as the šxʷqʷeləwən (one heart, one mind) gardener at Britannia Community Centre in Vancouver, BC. This role has allowed her to work directly with Britannia Secondary and Elementary and recently Grandview Elementary as the program is expanding in land based experiential learning within VSB. Raised in Whitehorse, Yukon, she was immersed in traditional plant medicine and ceremonies, instilling in her a deep sense of belonging and identity. Victoria’s journey led her to further study permaculture design and wild plants as medicine. She is honored to contribute to the Circle of Advisors on the Nourishing Indigenous Foods and Foodways in Schools initiative, bridging her passion for indigenous plants and traditional knowledge with community engagement. Outside of her advisory role, Victoria enjoys crafting facial oils from wild flowers and preparing vibrant meals bursting with flavor.
