Food Literacy Lead

Biography

She/her

Sarah has a strong background in research, policy, and project management, and is passionate about working with others towards food systems change. She began her career facilitating food literacy programs in BC and Ontario where she got to see the outcomes of experiential, community-connected programming first-hand. From there, she led Ontario policy advocacy and a curriculum support project to help build educators’ capacity to teach the curriculum through food. At Farm to Cafeteria Canada, Sarah is supporting the development of our School Food and Food Education Training Hub and related food literacy efforts. Sarah is also the Provincial Lead for the Ontario Chapter of the Coalition for Healthy School Food, working to advance school food programs in Ontario and Canada.

Sarah has a Masters of Environmental Studies degree from Dalhousie where she focused on food system sustainability. She spends her free time with her two little people, usually in the garden or adventuring outdoors.

Sarah’s home is in Ottawa. She’s grateful to be living and working on the traditional unceded and unsurrendered territory of the Algonquin Anishnaabe People.
