Biography

I am Haudenosaunee (6 Nations Iroquois Confederacy). I am originally from Oneida Nation of the Thames, located 20 mins west of London, ON. We are a matrilineal society with each Nation have a certain number of Clans. I walk with the Bear Clan, the bringers of medicine.

I have studies at various Universities through Canada and I now hold a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and Master of Adult Education and Community Development with a collaborative in Environmental Studies and Indigenous Studies.

I am one of the Co-founders and the current Secretary of Eagle Spirits of the Great Waters, Indigenous Arts and Cultures. I am an Environmentalist, an avid gardener, community advocate, and a strong voice for Indigenous equality. I am the owner/operator of Kandy Kennedy Indigenous Consulting. I am currently in collaboration with COOKSMART/ Sprout Circus. I am an Indigenous Consultant for: Ecosource Mississauga, Small Arms Community Gardens, and Hoffmann Hayes – City of Mississauga Urban Agriculture Strategy 2021.

I have worked with the University of Toronto – School of Cities / United Way – Community- Builders Fellowship as well as the Leading Social Justice Fellowships.

I am dreaming of a life in the woods with my family, with a place to swim, fish, garden, and of course outdoor cooking.
