Farm to School Month Canada

October is Farm to School Month!

The 2019 theme is

Healthy People, Healthy Planet

This year, Farm to School Month aims to engage and empower children and youth to learn about actions they can take to promote the health of both people and planet. Join us throughout October as we shine a spotlight on Farm to School and share resources and tips for incorporating healthy and environmentally sustainable practices into school and campus food activities.

(Registration is live October 1, 2019)

Once again we’re pleased to offer 3 grants of $1,500 each to grow Farm to School across Canada.

What is Farm to School Month?
Each October, Farm to Cafeteria Canada collaborates with lead agencies across the nation to organize and deliver the annual Farm to School Month CANADA celebrations. These celebrations run concurrent to those organized by the US National Farm to School Network. Farm to School Month is designed to engage and connect pre-school, school-age (K-12) and campus communities to showcase the numerous and diverse farm and local food to school initiatives happening across the country, while inspiring others to join the movement.
Anyone can celebrate Farm to School Month! If you’re excited about healthy, local, sustainable food in schools and on campuses, then we invite and encourage you to join us throughout October. Spread the word using the hashtag #F2SMonth2019, register your activities on our Farm to School Month Calendar and check out our list of other ways to get involved.
