She/her/elle
Soni has been fortunate to build a career focused on issues she cares deeply about, including sustainable food systems, regenerative agriculture, and the intersection of health, food, and agriculture policy. Her work has spanned both public institutions and the private sector, with a focus on advancing environmental and economic resilience.
Across these experiences, she has developed a deep commitment to collaboration, systems thinking, and bringing people together around shared values and goals. She currently works as a Senior Special Projects Manager in the Sustainability Division at Farm Credit Canada.
Outside of work, Soni loves living in Toronto with her family and enjoys having both nature and urban life close at hand. She has a son entering his teenage years, so she is constantly learning about his world—and its ever-evolving vocabulary.
And whenever she gets the chance, she heads for the oceans.
Soni lives and works on the traditional territories of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples. The land is covered by Treaty 13 signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit, and the Williams Treaties signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa bands.
