Biography

She/her/elle

My name is Maria Hernandez, I am originally from Honduras, and a recent graduate from the Faculty of Environmental Management at UNB. My interest in consumer behavior led me to pursue a minor in business administration with a focus on marketing. I am passionate about food security, which has motivated me to grow my own garden and live more sustainably. I think it’s important to lead by example, so if you want to see a change you have to start with you. My time working at summer camps and after-school programs have spiked my interest in promoting food sustainability, as this will create a better future for the children and young adults. I am excited to be working with F2CC and promote healthy eating, food security, to collaborate with Indigenous communities, and to reconnect with nature.

Maria lives and works on the traditional territory of the Wolastokiyik/ Wabanaki (Dawnland Confederacy).
