Regional Lead for Nova Scotia

Biography

She/her/elle

It is with great enthusiasm that I join the F2CC team as the Regional Lead for Nova Scotia!  I have been involved with incredible Farm to School programming throughout the past 14 years, from research and program development to hands-on food preparation.  I hold a Bachelor of Nutrition degree from St. FX University and a Masters in Health Promotion from the University of Alberta, with international practicum placements through the Coady International Institute.

My current roles are as Program Coordinator for the Farm to School Snack, as well as Volunteer Coordinator and Regional Liaison for the Nourish Your Roots fundraising program.  As an active parent volunteer, I co-manage a thriving PTA-run school cafeteria, employing a Red Seal chef for our healthy (and delicious) school lunch program.

I am also dedicated to birth work in NS, serving as a birth doula and a childbirth educator for expectant families in my community.  I live in the Annapolis Valley with my two amazing teenagers:)

Dawn lives and works in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral lands and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people.
