Photo Submission & Consent

• Farm to School programs bring healthy, local and sustainable foods into preschools, schools or campuses. They also, provide students with hands-on learning opportunities that foster food literacy, while strengthening the local food system and enhancing preschool, school, campus and community connectedness.

• Farm to Cafeteria Canada and its partners uses photos and video to document Farm to School programs, report to funders, and to generate interest and enthusiasm for Farm to School across Canada. Promotional materials are shared widely with funders, partners and the general public.

• By adding your name and date under the photo below, you are providing consent for your photo to be used for reports and promotional materials (including, but not limited to, brochures, websites and presentations).

• Upload ONE photo of your F2S activities, OR send us a link to a social media post that includes a photo about your F2S activities. Use the hashtag #digincanada in your post.*We must receive one photo in order to be eligible for the grant. Photos must be in colour and high resolution. (1.5-2.5 MBs)

Grant Draw Terms and Conditions:


• On November 2, 2018 at 12:00 pm (Pacific Standard Time), a random draw will be held to award 3 Farm to School grants worth $1,500.00 Canadian Dollars to 3 different Canadian preschools, schools or campuses that participated in the 2018 Farm to School Month Canada campaign. A maximum of one grant per preschool, school or campus will be awarded.

One grant* in each of the following categories will be awarded:

1) Connecting students to local food producers such as farmers, gardeners, chefs, bakers, cheese makers etc.

2) Engaging students in growing, cooking or preserving local foods at school.

3) Increasing the amount of local foods served and eaten in the school or campus cafeteria or preschool.
*each grant is valued at $1,500


Eligibility to be entered into the draw:

• This draw is limited to Canadian preschools, schools or campuses. Representatives of any preschool, primary, middle, secondary, public, private school or campus in Canada that engages students in a farm or local food to school activity during the month of October 2018 are ENCOURAGED to register.

• The preschool, school or campus must have participated in at least one #DigInCanada activity as part of Farm to School month Canada between October 1-31, 2018.

• The online registration form above must be completely filled out for each preschool, school or campus that participated in an activity to celebrate Farm to School Month Canada.

• One photo must be submitted illustrating the way your school was "Digging In" during Farm to School Month Canada OR a link to a social media post that includes a photo about your F2S activities must be provided. Use the hashtag #digincanada in your post. The photos must be colour and high resolution and must depict students engaged in the activity. By participating, you are consenting Farm to Cafeteria Canada to use the photo provided.

• Along with the photo, you must share (1-2 sentences) why your school is excited about (or inspired by) farm and local food to school activities.

• For each photo submitted on the online form, consent must be given by filling out your name and date.

•Applicants must add their preschool, school or campus to our National School Food Map here: (http://www.farmtocafeteriacanada.ca/our-work/school-food-map/) . If you have previously entered your school on our map, please make sure your information is up to date by searching for your school at the link above.

• The applicant must be 19 years of age or older.

• The applicant must check off the boxes at the bottom of the registration form that indicate he/she has submitted a photo, added consent for each photo submitted and that he/she has read and agrees with the terms and conditions for the prize draw. The registration deadline is 11:59 pm (Pacific Standard Time) - October 31, 2018.
