Trent University opens Trent Market Garden to fulfil sustainable agriculture commitment to dine on own produce at campus

Trent University students are noshing on produce from their own backyard when they dine on campus this fall.

Friday marked the grand opening of the Trent Market Garden.

The student-led project grows and produces vegetables to serve on campus.

It’s located on 1 1/2 acres at Trent’s Sustainable Agriculture Environmental Farm, behind Symons Campus’s East Bank.

The garden launched in the fall of 2014, through a partnership between Trent University Food Services, the Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems program and the school’s on-campus food provider, Chartwells. Read More…
